Jan-Erik Wikström (1969-). Swedish dancer and teacher

Jan-Erik Wikström was born in Sweden in 1969 and trained at the Royal Swedish Ballet School. He joined the Royal Swedish Ballet in 1987, becoming a soloist in 1991 and principal in 1993. He was particularly noted for his portrayal as Crown Prince Rudolf in Kenneth MacMillan’s Mayerling and was appointed a Royal Court Dancer in 2000. From 2001 until 2014, Wikström was a principal with English National Ballet. He has taught in a number of places, including for the International Ballet Masterclasses in Prague, at the Stockholm Dance Academy and for the Swedish Folkuniversitetet.
