Daria Klimentová (1971-). Czech ballerina and teacher

Daria Klimentová was born in Prague in 1971. She began her life as a gymnast, but then trained in ballet at the Prague State Conservatoire of Music and Dance. In 1989, she joined the National Theatre Ballet in Prague, becoming a principal in 1990. Then she danced as a principal for Cape Town City Ballet (1992) and Scottish Ballet (1993). In 1996 she joined English National Ballet, dancing most of major roles, and in 2010 she began what became a famous dancing partnership with the much younger Vadim Muntagirov. When Klimentová retired from dancing in 2014, Muntagirov moved to The Royal Ballet. In 2003 Klimentová founded the International Ballet Masterclasses in her native Prague. Since her retirement in 2014 she has been a teacher at The Royal Ballet School and English National Ballet School.
