Ann Jenner (1944-). British ballerina and teacher

Ann Jenner was born in Ewell, Surrey, in 1944. She studied at The Royal Ballet School, joining The Royal Ballet in 1961 and becoming a principal in 1970. With a light, delicate style, Jenner danced many classic roles, including The Firebird, Swanilda in Coppélia, Giselle and Princess Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, and in Symphonic Variations. Her Lise in La Fille mal gardée was particularly noted; in 1977 Mikhail Baryshnikov partnered her in this ballet. She left The Royal Ballet in 1978 to join The Australian Ballet, where she also taught.
