Kristen McNally (1983?-) British dancer and choreographer

Kristen McNally was born in Liverpool and trained  with a local ballet teacher before joining The Royal Ballet Upper School in 1999. She graduated into The Royal Ballet in 2002, becoming a soloist in 2009 and principal character artist in 2017. She has danced a formidable range of roles, including Lady Elgar in Frederick Ashton’s Enigma Variations, Empress Elizabeth in Kenneth MacMillan’s Mayerling, Nacha in Christopher Wheeldon’s Like Water for Chocolate, and the protagonist in Crystal Pite’s Flight Pattern.

Always interested in choreography, McNally has been a regular contributor to The Royal Ballet’s Draft Works programme, as well as making works for many other groups, including A Chance for Dance, New English Ballet Theatre, The BalletBoyz and The Royal Ballet School. Kristin McNally has also become one of the public faces of The Royal Ballet both in the presentation of World Ballet Day on social media, and as host to some of the Royal Opera House Insight programmes.
