Joe Eula (1925–2004). American fashion illustrator, costume designer and creative director of the Halston fashion label

Joe Eula trained at the Art Students League of New York and worked as a fashion illustrator for American Vogue, The New York Times and Harper’s Bazaar. In addition, he designed costumes for figures in show business, including Miles Davis, and was responsible for the costumes in several ballets choreographed by Jerome Robbins at New York City Ballet, including Dances at a Gathering and The Goldberg Variations. Later in his career he assisted Diana Vreeland, head of the Costume Institute at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
