Howard Hodgkin (1932–2017). British artist, print maker and theatre designer

Howard Hodgkin studied at Camberwell School of Art and the Bath Academy of Art and had a long and successful career as an abstract painter and printmaker. Hodgkin designed several dance works for the stage, most notably Richard Alston’s Night Music and Pulcinella for Ballet Rambert, Ashley Page’s Piano for The Royal Ballet, and Mark Morris’ Rhymes with Silver, Kolam, Mozart Dances and Layla and Majnun for Mark Morris Dance Group.
