Graham Fletcher (1950-). British dancer and teacher

Graham Fletcher was born in Bolton, Lancashire, and started dancing at the age of nine. He studied at The Royal Ballet School from 1963, entering The Royal Ballet at Covent Garden in 1968. In 1971 he transferred to The Royal Ballet New Group, returning to the Covent Garden company in 1972. He danced an extensive repertoire with the company, and in created a role in Rudi von Dantzig’s The Ropes of Time, and in 1978 the role of Bratfisch in Kenneth MacMillan’s Mayerling. He also appeared on numerous episodes of The Muppet Show on television, most famously dancing the pig ballerina with Rudolf Nureyev in Swine Lake.

After leaving The Royal Ballet, Fletcher appeared on the West End in Cats. He has taught for The Royal Ballet School and its Associates programme and also for the Leicestershire Arts Dance and Ballet Activate Programme. He runs the Graham Fletcher Ballet Associates programme for young dancers.
