Denise Nunn (1956-). Australian dancer and teacher
Denise Nunn was born in Wollongang, Australia, and came to The Royal Ballet School on a scholarship in 1973. After a notable performance at the School’s annual performance, she joined The Royal Ballet Company in 1974. As a member of The Royal Ballet, she created the role of Vera in Frederick Ashton’s A Month in the Country in 1976, and a shadow in John Neumeier’s The Fourth Symphony in 1977. Other roles included Princess Stephanie in MacMillan’s Mayerling, Friday’s Child in Ashton’s Jazz Calendar. On leaving The Royal Ballet, Nunn danced for The Australian Ballet, after which she taught and choreographed for a number of ballet schools in Australia.
