Ben Craft (1963?-). British dancer, choreographer and director
Ben Craft trained at The Royal Ballet School and danced for Ballet Rambert between 1986 and 1987, and also with Maurice Béjart’s Ballet of the 20th Century. In 1991, Craft danced in a short film M is for Man, Music and Mozart, directed by Peter Greenaway with music by Louis Andriessen, to commemorate the bicentenary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s death. In 1992 Craft founded his own company, Small Axe, which performed their own New Malden to Upminster in 1993 and Cold Ground Drifting at in 1994, both at The Place’s Spring Loaded festivals. Other former Rambert dancers, Cathrine Price and Gary Lambert, were involved in both companies. Subsequently Craft has worked as a freelance dancer and choreographer, most notably in The Netherlands.
