1997 – The Duchy Ballet established

Down Arrow

The Duchy Ballet was established in 1997 by Kay Jones to commemorate the opening of The Hall for Cornwall in Truro. Jones was born in Cornwall and trained locally in the Cecchetti Method before moving to Hong Kong where she dedicated much of her time to teaching ballet. Jones returned to Cornwall in 1983 and has overseen all of The Duchy Ballet’s productions since its inception. The company continues to fulfill its aims to provide young dancers in Cornwall with the opportunity to train, rehearse and perform within a professional setting by being exposed to teachers and dance artists of national and international acclaim.
